Sometimes, though, the sheer amount of information can be overwhelming to a first timer. This tool pares down the traditional character sheet, giving players only--and exactly--what they need to know to have fun.
As a DM, you should first create a long-form character sheet (designed for 5th edition 2014). Then, using this tool, enter the required data on the first tab and print a simplified character sheet from the second tab.
Note that this tool is designed to simplify a first-time player's experience, so it only goes up through level 5. Additionally, not all spells, race and class features, and specializations are listed - only what a newbie would be most excited about or need to know. Because the spreadsheet uses XLOOKUP tables, you'll need to use Excel 2021 or later, or Microsoft 365.
